Tata Communications completes acquisition of The Switch

Indian service provider Tata Communications has announced it has finalised the $56.8 million acquisition of the live video production and transmission platform The Switch Enterprises.

Through its wholly owned international subsidiary Tata Communications (Netherlands), the company struck an agreement with New York-headquartered The Switch to acquire 100% equity stake at the end of the last year.

The Switch’s comprehensive production platform combines mobile and remote services to enable its customers to cost-effectively capture, edit and package high-quality live coverage. The Switch’s delivery network connects production facilities with more than 800 of the world’s largest content producers, distributors, and sports and event venues, linking rights holders, broadcasters, streaming platforms, media outlets and web services.
