Samsung TV Plus has continued its aggressive expansion into FAST with the launch of several new channels in Spain, including one based around BBC franchise Top Gear. All told, the platform now has more than 100 channels in the market.
Commenting, Ana Izquierdo Lowry, head of business development at Samsung TV Plus Iberia, said passing the 100 channel mark illustrated the platform’s strategy “to increase quality content to offer the best entertainment and information experience. Across sports, news, lifestyle, series, film and children’s channels, Samsung TV Plus is committed to providing quality content free to users of a Samsung (device).”
Following the launch of five channels from public broadcaster RTVE in November 2022, Top Gear is one of four new additions that have helped tip the total over 100. Also joining the platform are The Soul Publishing’s 5 Minute Ideas and Teen Vee; and Todo Crimen, a channel “for lovers of crime, mystery and suspense.”
Samsung launched Samsung TV Plus as a free streaming service in 2015, and now it is in 16 European countries. Globally, it is available in 24 territories.
