Nasfim Haque has been named as head of content for BBC3 in the UK. Haque, who has been interim channel editor since February 2022, will lead the channel on a daily commissioning and editorial basis. Confirmation of her appointment comes after Fiona Campbell took on the role of controller, youth audience (BBC iPlayer & BBC3).
In her new role, Haque is charged with ensuring that the channel offers young audiences a mixed genre slate. Upcoming highlights include music competition series Project Icon, reality entertainment series Charlotte in Sunderland and a full series of Dreaming Whilst Black. In her new role, Nasfim will report into Campbell.
Commenting, Haque said: “BBC3 plays a key role in bringing the next generation of audiences to the BBC so I feel privileged to be working on a channel I love and to be tasked with ensuring our content reflects younger viewers across the UK.”
Campbell added: “I know (Haque) is committed to keep on driving the best ideas forward on BBC Three that reflect the youth experience right across the UK.”
Haque has held a number of posts during her time at the BBC, and also worked at Two Four, Century Films and Love Productions and Channel 4 commissioning.
