Two thirds of Spanish homes now connect to the internet via fibre.
According to the regulator CNMC, this type of broadband was present in 66.7% as of the second quarter, while only 14.6% used ADSL.
In terms of location, the figure was at least 62% in places with more than 5,000 inhabitants and 48.8% in those with fewer than 5,000 inhabitants.
Almost nine out of 10 households (86.8%) had fixed broadband contracted in Q2, up 1.5% on the previous year’s 85.5%.
Meanwhile, 48% contracted some form of pay-TV service, or 6% more than a year earlier.
