DTH Pakistan: There are a lot of dish channels in Pakistan but it lacks any dth service provider. But now it seems that soon people in Pakistan will have their first Pakistani dth service as PTV will launch DTH services, says Marriyum. The Minister of State for Information, Broadcasting and National Heritage, Ms Marriyum Aurangzeb, while chairing a high-level meeting here on Friday, ordered the management of Pakistan Television Corporation to start work as soon as possible to launch the Direct To services. Home (DTH) with views provide cutting-edge, affordable, uninterrupted and quality services to viewers, available by state broadcasters throughout the region and around the world.
She said it was part of the policy of the current PML-N government to change the country's digital landscape, which also included the introduction of the latest mobile technology (4G / 5G).
The Minister also ordered the PTV administration to submit a detailed proposal for the introduction of DTH services within the next 7 days.
In addition, he indicated that the best available systems that can provide quality services should be acquired and, while the proposal is being prepared, special attention should be paid to ensuring transparency throughout the process.
The Minister said that once the proposal is approved, due process will be followed for the introduction of the best DTH services according to international standards.
The meeting was attended by senior officials from the Ministry of Information, Broadcasting and Pakistan Television Corporation.
