Star TV India to launch a new free to air Hindi movie channel under Star Utsav brand. Prepare yourself for a great game in the market of FTA free to air TV as Star TV India is planning to launch a FTA Hindi movie channel called Star Utsav Movies.
Star Utsav is the registered free to air TV of Star GEC Hindi channel. The channel is more likely to be launched in May and June, a source close to the development, told sattvdishdth.net. It will be a mix of old and new films. "We're a Star Utsav TLC film movies start in May or June. It will have a mix of romantic comedy films, romantic films, old and new films. Also, It will be available in DD Freedish, a free to air direct to home TV service of India.

Star already booked the space in Doordarshan Freedish (DTH) to add the new channel on DD freedish package. The source said the plan was to launch an FTA Hindi movie channel under brand of Star Utsav. "The license was formerly under the channel name as star Gold Romance, but the permission has recently received from MIB to rename it to Star Utsav movies.
"The free to air movie channel should be still under the brand of Star Utsav," said the source. The strategy behind the expansion of Star Utsav in Hindi films is clear. Star Utsav is a well-known brand in these markets is the new channel have a high recall of the public opinion.
With the release of Star Utsav Movies, Hindi Movie channels of Star Bouquet increase to four with star gold, stars gold HD and movies OK. The new channel will be responsible for Star India EVP and GM Hemal Jhaveri Hindi film industry.
