Measat satellite TV and Newtec testing new standard demonstration of 4K UHDTV channels
Malaysian satellite TV operator Measat and Newtec satellite technology have come together to show satellite transmission distributed for 4K UHDTV video with the new transmission standard DVB-S2X.

After Newtec, which may contribute to the development of the DVB-S2X, published in February, standard to bring efficiency gains for DVB-S2 up to 51% for professional use and up to 20% of the direct to home TV dth services.
The pair with the new technology at CommunicAsia exhibition in Singapore shows 4K transfers cabin UHDTV from Measat demonstrate.
The 4k UHDTV satellite TV feed is delivered from MEASAT Teleport in Cyberjaya, Kuala Lumpur uplink and down-link live via satellite MEASAT-3 C-band, with new appliances of Newtec DVB-S2X modulation.
"Last year Measat demonstrated its ability to provide 4K UHDTV satellite TV channels. This year we have our efforts with a live demonstration of UHDTV satellite TV using the new DVB-S2X." The rapid adoption of technologies continues, said Raj Malik, Vice President for sales and marketing, of Measat.
"With DVB-S2X, MEASAT can assist with more effective dissemination and effective use of the capacity of our satellites for our customers."
